To anyone who is a pediatrician or even know anything about being one: What advice you give to students who are planning for this job?
Pediatricians:
Do not make any decisions about a specialty until u r well into ur clinical rotations in medical school.
I started med school thinking I was going to be a pediatrician, but now I'd prefer a poke in the eye with a stick to that job. I love kids, I just prefer them to be asleep.
If u enjoy ur pediatrics rotation enough to consider spending most of ur waking life doing it, then go for it.
In the meantime, study hard, & get used to the sounds of screaming children (I do not think pediatricians see many happy kids.)
